OVERHEAD CRANE OPERATOR
This program will provide participants with an in-depth knowledge of lifting, rigging, and overhead cranes to enable them to perform lifting operations specific to their environment in accordance with local regulations and industry standard CSA B167 and ASME B30. It is ideally suited for operators lifting a variety of loads with different rigging configurations.

• Turning Loads
• Determining the centre of gravity in odd, shaped loads
• Rigging equipment (slings, hardware, magnets, plate grabs, lifting beams)
• Overhead crane types and components
• Pre-use inspection (rigging equipment and overhead crane)
• Communications (radio, hand signals)
• Safe overhead crane operating principles
• Practical application of the equipment and principles
The program is a combination of theory and practical training. A minimum of 50% of the course is dedicated to practical training. Participants are evaluated by means of a written exam and practical evaluation. Upon successful completion of the program, a certificate will be issued.
DURATION : 5-days.
LOCATION : Training is delivered at Hercules Training Academy in Dartmouth, NS. However, we can also deliver the training at your site.
