Fundamentals of Rigging with Practical
This program will provide participants with the fundamental knowledge to perform lifting operations safely. This Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) accredited program meets and exceeds the local regulations and industry standards.
- Legislation, regulations, and standards
- Risk management
- Rigging plan
- Calculating load weight
- Rigging triangle
- Sling angles and sling tension
- Rigging equipment (slings, hitches, hardware, hooks)
- Pre-use inspections
- Tag lines
- Communications (radio, hand signals)
- Practical application of the equipment and principles
The program is a combination of theory and practical training. Participants are evaluated by means of a written test and practical evaluation. Upon successful completion of the program, a certificate will be issued.
This course is 2 days.
Training is valid for three (3) years.
Training is delivered at Hercules Training Academy in Dartmouth, NS. However, we can also deliver the training at your site - please contact us for more information.
• CSA approved safety footwear, CSA approved safety glasses, CSA approved hard hat.
NOTE: customers are to provide mobile crane, boom truck, etc for the practical training when the training is delivered on-site; participants are to be prepared for work outdoors.
